Such a neat museum. Kids can interact in so many ways with so many exhibits if we didn’t have many miles to go, we would have been till they closed. Fun for the whole family. As well they have an interesting gift shop so be sure to pick up some souvenirs to remember this gem hidden in the woods.

We weren't sure it would be age-appropriate for our infant & toddlers, but they LOVED it. I'm so glad we decided to stop by, as the second floor is kid-centered and has plenty of high-quality activities and interactives to keep children of different ages engaged. We spent about an hour here, but could have stayed longer. The entire facility is very clean and exhibits are well-maintained. We were here on a weekday morning and it was not crowded.

Absolutely loved this place. My daughter wife and I went here on a Sunday and it was a blast. I'm a big history buff so learning about the flint hills and the economic and social history of it was really cool. They also had a native American section with models of their shelters that they used over time. The kids play area was fun for my daughter and the space limited exhibit was also really fun for us being able to make paper air planes and rockets. The gift shop also had a wide selection of things relatively priced. Overall a great family place.

Our family had a great time spending New Years Eve at the Discovery Center. So much to see and do and the staff is so fun and friendly! The event was so fun and the kids loved the dance party, glow light, and balloon drop! Can't wait to return to explore the exhibits further!

First of all, I would like to personally thank Director, Susan Adams for providing me with a lot of helpful information prior to my visit. I’ve wanted to visit The Flint Hills Discovery Center for a number of years, and I’m SO glad that I’ve finally been able to! There’s a film in a small theater that provides guests with a historical background about The Flint Hills. The exhibits are VERY hands on, and are all about the preservation and culture of The Flint Hills. It’s a VERY serene and calming environment, as are The Flint Hills. This would be a great place to bring a group of students on a field trip, and there’s a lot of fun activity sheets for them to engage in. I would also point out that this can also serve as a community center because there’s several rooms available to hold any kind of event. The kids have a great deal of fun on the second level in The Prairie Playscape. If you go up to the third level, that takes you outside to where you have amazing views of The City of Manhattan. On the first level, as soon as you enter, is a gift shop with all sorts of unique Kansas products. The staff are VERY friendly, knowledgeable and can assist you with ALL things Manhattan.

A must visit for all ages! The exhibits are well done and informative on the history of the prairie. The movie is amazing with great visuals and special effects. For us the highlight was the pollinator gardens surrounding the building! Make sure you go up to the 3rd floor for the view and then take the stairs down around the outside to read all about the native plants and see the bees and butterflies at work!

This is one of my daughter's favorite things to do in town. Sometimes we go for 15 minutes and sometimes we go for a few hours, so the annual membership is a no-brainer particularly in these cold months. There is one exhibit that changes often and the permanent exhibits are very well done.

I'm delighted to share my experience at the Flint Hills Discovery Center. Not only did my kids thoroughly enjoy their visit, but I also found the changing exhibits to be a refreshing aspect of the center. The interactive displays captivated their attention, providing an immersive learning experience that was both educational and enjoyable. The variety of exhibits ensured that every visit felt unique, and the center's commitment to showcasing the dynamic nature of the Flint Hills region was truly impressive. It's a place where my family's love for learning and exploration continues to thrive.
